Not only is a three stranded rope stronger than a single strand it is also able to pull more, support more, and accomplish more. Island Light is looking for those partners that will bind with us to do more than we can do alone. Each person that commits to assisting financially makes us stronger and more increases our ability to change the Dominican Republic- one life at a time.
Youth Ministry
Support for Youth Ministries opens the doors to sharing Christ with Dominican youth through devotionals and various activities.
Vocational Training Center
Colegio Técnico Villa Paraiso is a fully functioning Vocational College. Classes are currently offered in Sewing, Cosmetology, Barbering and Literacy. Soon to begin are classes in Small Engine Mechanics and Woodworking. Classes are taught by professional instructors and students receive a diploma upon successful completion of each course. All students receive a scholarship. Scholarships for students provide books, materials, tools of the trade, and tuition. Donations for scholarships can be made directly to the specific trade that you want to support. Donations can be made monthly or per scholarship.
Churches and Bible Studies
Twenty five dollars monthly provides continuing ministry education for Dominican Pastors, assists in outreaches and Bible studies in both Spanish and English.
Feeding Program
With some areas of the country reaching as high as 70% poverty level many families cannot afford to eat every day. Many children go to school without any breakfast and many times without dinner the night before. $25 a month helps provide food commodities to those in need.
Ministry Vehicle Fund
Island Light Ministries is in need of a new vehicle. The old vehicle is giving out and has become unreliable and is beyond repair.
General Ministry Fund
Make a donation to any of the ministries, in any amount.
Support Missionaries
Joining the team of missionary supporters helps provide housing, utilities and other living expenses that allow for full time missionary service.
Jim & Debra Tunnicliffe, Founders of Island Light Ministries, currently live as full time missionaries in the Dominican Republic.
