Pastor James and Debra Tunnicliffe, Founders and Directors of Island Light Ministries

Since 1979 Jim has preached, taught new believers classes and home Bible Studies. In 1980, while at the Horizon School of Evangelism Jim took his first missionary trip to Hong Kong and Singapore.

The next call to "go into all the world" came a year later when Jim left the staff of his home church to help plant a church on Maui, HI. Jim moved to Oregon in 1985 where he and his wife Debra lived and raised their family. In 2000 God opened the door to visit Haiti, and this was the beginning of the call to full time service that would take their family to the Dominican Republic as missionaries.

Jim is an ordained Pastor, a TESL (Teaching English as a Second Language) teacher, and a licensed general contractor. Debra works along side Jim in ministry, using her experience gained from work in the health care field and years of involvement in the church. Both Jim and Debra desire to answer the call of going out into all the world and share the Gospel with all creation.

Jim and Debra have three grown children and five grandchildren.

Board Members

John & Marilyn Zupan
John and Marilyn volunteer as mentors for Youth for Christ. They own a real estate company in Medford, Oregon.

Steve & Rhonda Burkhalter
Steve and Rhonda have traveled to Africa, Mexico and the Dominican Republic on mission trips. They are active in their home church in many area including Meals Ministry and Retreats.

Paul Henderson
Paul is a pastor and serves as an elder and board member in his church. He is an attorney specializing in Family Law.

Rogue Valley Fellowship

Their home and sending church is Rogue Valley Fellowship in Medford Oregon where they have been members for more than fifteen years. RVF is a non-denominational Christian Fellowship that was planted by Pastor Dave Booye in 1992. It is a fellowship of believers whose sole desire is to worship and magnify our Lord Jesus Christ, and to be conformed to His image by the Holy Spirit. We believe the Bible to be the living and authoritative Word of God.

Partner Ministries

Helping Hands International. HHI is a non-denominational Christian ministry with the vision of reaching out to people in practical, tangible ways. Founded by Pastor Ron Ashpole, HHI sends teams to all parts of the globe sharing the love of God and the Gospel message.
